Customized Sintered Filter Disc Application in Compressed Gas.
Benefits
- High Resistance to Corrosion: One of the most important benefits of sintered metal filter discs is the high resistance to water and chemical corrosion.
- Better Filtration: You are sure of getting rid of all the contaminants from the fluid you are filtering using the sintered metal filter discs.
- High Thermal Shock: You can use the sintered metal filer discs in applications that have high thermal shock without worry of destruction.
- Reasonable Pressure Drop: Sintered metal filter discs have numerous pores that will allow increased flow of fluids, thus resulting in reasonable pressure drops.
- Great Pressure and Temperature Resistance: The metal you will use in the sintered metal filter disc manufacturing has very high mechanical strength. You can use it in high-temperature and high-pressure applications as it can withstand the force and heat from the fluids.
Applications
- Liquid filtration
- Air filtration
- Hydraulics
- Spin pack filters
- Manufacture of man-made polymer fiber materials.
- Textile products
- Flame arrestors

A sintered disc is a solid yet porous material formed by undergoing a sintering process, wherein metal or non-metal powders are subjected to heat and pressure without reaching the point of liquefaction. This process binds the particles together, resulting in a disc with a uniform pore structure. Sintered discs are commonly used for filtration purposes due to their precise pore sizes and mechanical strength.
A sintered disc is made of metal or non-metal powders that have been compressed and heated (sintered) to form a solid, yet porous structure. Common materials include stainless steel, bronze, titanium, and ceramics. The specific material chosen often depends on the intended application and desired filtration properties.
Disc filters allow water or another fluid to pass through a series of stacked discs with small grooves or ridges. As the fluid flows between these discs, the grooves capture and retain unwanted particles, sediment, and debris, effectively filtering the fluid. The filtered fluid continues its path, while the trapped contaminants remain on the discs. Periodically, the discs can be backflushed or cleaned to remove the accumulated particles and restore optimal filtration performance.
Of course, you can customize sintered filter discs with different diameters, thicknesses, and materials.

The cleaning frequency depends on the usage and the type of particles being filtered. The contaminants might be blocking the fluid flow, thus leading to an increase in pressure drop. As soon as the pressure drop increases, you will know that the filter may have too many contaminants. In this case, you will have to clean the sintered metal filter discs to eliminate the contaminants.
